How a Publishing Company Increased Efficiency with a Yale Turret Truck
A book publishing company in Kansas City (and long-time Raymond customer) wanted to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
They were looking for a mechanically sophisticated lift with low maintenance and a high safety rating. The publisher partnered with Riekes Equipment to explore their options.
Our warehousing experts assessed their operation and suggested a specialized Yale truck. This solution increased overall efficiency, and they continue to replace their existing fleet with Yale equipment.
INITIAL CHALLENGE
A book publishing company wanted to find a more efficient way to transfer inventory within their warehouse. Although loyal to the Raymond brand, they were open to an alternative low maintenance solution that reduced downtime.
OUR SOLUTION
Together, the customer’s leadership team and Riekes’ warehouse experts brainstormed cost-effective solutions. After assessing their operation, Riekes provided the publisher with a Yale “man-up turret” for their team to test.
Not only is the Yale lift sophisticated, but it’s also stable and safer in the air due to mast construction. Additionally, this unit is low maintenance and less part intensive than its competitors.
THE RESULTS
The customer increased productivity by 25%, pulling 3-5 more pallets per hour, depending on the operator.
They’ve continued to purchase additional Yale products, including enclosed end riders, and they’re also considering replacing order picker trucks with Yale.
